Cochise, great Chief of the Apache nation, is dead. The leadership passes to his son, Taza, whose determination to carry on his father's policy of peace with the white man meets with bitter opposition from other powerful members of the tribe -
including Taza's own brother.

Everybody loves a dolphin. They are clever, they play like children and they seem to wear a permanent smile. And scientifically they are extraordinary. They can dive for thousands of feet without getting the bends. They can give each other instructions by whistling and they may even be able to mind-read.
Whales may have all these amazing features as well, for dolphins are simply miniature whales.
Yet, though their intelligence may be second only to man's, whales are being massacred, wiped out, driven to extinction. The Blue Whale is the largest animal that has ever lived on earth, little is known about it, yet its numbers are so few it may never be seen again. Whale products range from lipsticks to pet foods; in 1970 British cats and dogs alone consumed nearly 1,000 whales. This slaughter can be stopped and this programme shows how.
