Don't we all want peace - an end to war and bloodshed and, above all, to the ever present threat of nuclear destruction? But how many of us are doing anything to achieve peace? Is there any useful action that the individual can take or are governments simply too remote and human beings just naturally aggressive? The fact is that 'peace' remains among the least researched of all human ideas.
Throughout the world a small but rapidly growing band of 'Peace Groups' is emerging. Originally scientists and academics, they have now added housewives, teachers and many other professions to their number. They choose to study peace as coolly and expertly as defence experts study war.
Tonight's film examines their beliefs and studies their work - both in Europe and America - and asks how practical their ideas really are.
