Weather
The first in a film trilogy about the Channel Islands.
Introduced by Jeffery Boswall
The mild southern climate of the isles, which brings on the early produce for export and the influx of tourists, also means a fauna and flora different from Britain's. Rare wild orchids, moths like the Jersey Tiger, unusual plovers and warblers, and the coveted ormer - a giant limpet - are among the specialities.
The islands too are a special home for myriads of seabirds, and boast one of the newest gannetries in Europe and the largest stormy petrel assembly in the world. A naturalist in the Channel Islands can still get away from it all; the green off-lying islets are a sanctuary for bird-watchers as well as birds.
(from Bristol: first shown on BBC1 South and West)
Introduced by David Jones

Theodorakis
Most people know Mikis Theodorakis as composer of the music for such films as Z and Zorba the Greek. But he is also Greece's foremost popular songwriter. In this programme the composer accompanies Antonis Caloyanis as he sings Theodorakis's setting of a poem of exile by Namos Elefteriou - 'My Bat.'
