A grand tour of some of the world's outstanding zoos with Anthony Smith

A place to live and breed
This largest and oldest Swiss zoo is one of the richest and most up-to-date in Europe. Its director Dr Ernst Lang is dedicated to the ideal that a zoo is a place where animals can live and breed rather than just exist and eventually die.
The first European Indian Rhino was born here; and Goma, the first European gorilla, now lives with her parents, brothers, and sisters as a family unit in a section of the extensive new air-conditioned Ape House.

The Class that Came In from the Cold... is how Clive Jenkins sees Britain's white-collar workers in this series of highly personal films.

Once upon a time there was a middle class who believed that they were part of the ruling system. Mergers, take-overs, computerisation, the growth of huge industrial combines - all these things have pushed the middle class further away from their traditional positions of power.
Now they are all workers and they need the things all workers need - organisation and power in their place of work. So says trade union leader Clive Jenkins: the middle class have turned to the trade union movement and have come in from the cold.

Starring Donald Wolfit

Who betrayed the leader of a wartime resistance group, and has he got enough nerve to attend the group's annual reunion dinner? This compelling and claustrophobic drama provides some of the answers.
As well as Donald Wolfit, there's a clutch of good names in the cast like Robert Bray (Bus Stop), Anton Diffring, and Rupert Davies (Maigret).
