Weather
A pioneer settler and his two sons fighting to keep their hard-won cattle land in the lawless territory of California during the closing years of last century.
A large, ungainly, humpbacked bull with a friendly tendency for licking hands hardly seems worthy of the excitement, intrigue and deceit that surrounds it. But although 'Hump' may be ugly he is rather special.
Andrew Duggan, the tall actor who plays Murdoch Lancer, cut his professional teeth with the US equivalent of ENSA during World War II. Later, he was in the stage productions of "Paint Your Wagon" and "The Rose Tattoo".

This week's programme in the series on Man and Science today.
Which of the following adjectives in each pair would you associate with live animal experiments in this country, usually called 'vivisection'?
Cruel Kind
Unnecessary Essential
Painful Painless
Wasteful Economical
Many people would choose with confidence the adjectives on the left-hand side. But do we really know what goes on where 'vivisection' is practised and why these experiments are supposed to be necessary? Do the benefits obtained justify man's using the other animals for his own health and well-being?
Tonight's Horizon shows people on both sides of a very wide gulf - the anti-vivisectionists whose opposition is outspoken, and the scientists who carry out this work but rarely speak out for fear of stirring up even more opposition.

Spain is guitars: Spain is horses
Four faces of Spain observed by Terence Carroll
Andalucia produces some of the best and most dashing horsemen in the world. Many of the cowboys of 'Western' legend and reality in fact came from this part of Spain.
In this film Terence Carroll joins the caballeros as they prepare for the greatest assembly of Spanish horses and riders-the April Fair in Seville.
