One moment you are in perfect health; the next you are struck down with a paralysing illness, perhaps unable to speak. This can happen if you have a stroke. Can you hope to walk again? Will you recover your speech?
In this programme people talk about the after-effects of a stroke, and a specialist shows the latest treatment to help stroke sufferers. He shows that the outlook today is far from hopeless

African wildlife is seemingly so profuse, so breathtakingly beautiful that the idea of 'managing' it, of organising its survival in the midst of our encroaching world can seem unnecessary, even insolent.
And yet it must be done. In our own lifetime the great game herds have been decimated and the balance between species has been disrupted. If a new balance is to be achieved man must create it. For this programme Horizon visited the Scientific Research Institute in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, where scientists are plotting the intricate patterns of wildlife behaviour. This background information is vital before animal conservation can be put on a systematic basis.
