A conversation with Eric Hoffer
Intellectuals don't know a goddam thing about democracy...
England-a manicured little island...
There is only one pride-the pride of achievement...
Thus speaks Eric Hoffer, the fascinating retired docker, now author, scholar, and philosopher, in this his second conversation with Eric Sevareid of C.B.S. News.

Dramatised by Hugo Charteris
[Starring] Eileen Atkins as Leslie Crosbie, Andre Morell as George Joyce, Peter Bowles as Robert Crosbie, Eric Young as Ong Chi Seng
At the Crosbie bungalow one night, the only sound is the noise of the generator and the cicadas in the jungle. Suddenly two shots ring out. Hammond, mortally wounded, staggers through to the verandah and collapses. Leslie Crosbie stands over his body and empties the revolver into him. Then as the houseboys arrive she drops the gun and walks, without a word, to her bedroom. The trial becomes the sensation of the Federated Malay States. An acquittal is assured until a letter is found that could send her to the gallows.
