starring Randolph Scott, Dolores Dorn, Marie Windsor.

A bounty hunter, tracking down outlaws for the reward, trails three train-robbers to a small town but there he finds a conspiracy of silence...
Randolph Scott, who stars in today's film, spent almost his entire movie career in the saddle. His stiff, almost wooden bearing exactly conveyed the feeling of the silent, mythical Westerner. In 1957 Andre Bazin, praising Scott's performance in "The Tall T", said: "His face bears an unmistakable resemblance to William Hart even down to the sublimely unexpressive blue eyes. Not one single expressive look, not the shadow of a thought or feeling".

Gordon Wilkins covers the world of motor sport

A profile of the Le Mans 24-Hour Race
with Michael Frostick, Judith Jackson

Over the years, the 24-hour race at Le Mans has been the best endurance test in the world for sports cars. Bentley and Jaguar, Ferrari and Ford, have gone to any lengths to win it. But is the race this afternoon a contest between sports cars the motorist can buy? Or has Le Mans become a showplace for high-powered prototypes made regardless of price or the public?

A series of film reports by Trevor Philpott

In America there are now nearly ten million widows. They form a large and powerful section of society, many of them have plenty of money and plenty of life in them yet; and probably nowhere in the world is there quite such a concentration of widows as in Miami, Florida. Widows go there by the thousand, seeking to fill the time and the space left by the going of the man in their lives. What do they do with their money and their time? Just how merry is the merry, middle-class widow of America?

Noel's list of credits is full and crowded for a young man. Star of stage, films, and TV (particularly The Girl from UNCLE), he won an Oscar for 'Windmills of Your Mind' which he sang behind the credits and during the action of the Steve McQueen-Faye Dunaway movie The Thomas Crown Affair. You'll hear him do this number tonight, as well as his latest recording 'Sparrow.'

Artists for Tomorrow: 3: The Visual Arts
A year ago students took over Hornsey College and guard dogs appeared at Guildford. Other art colleges, though less reported upon, were no less critical of the present state of art education. The result of this widespread dissatisfaction is the Joint Working Party of the Coldstream and Summerson committees, and the future of the art colleges now rests in their hands.
Three key questions are the concern of this film: What is the aim of art education? What will be the artist's role in the future? How can his ability be assessed?

The City is Dying-Look to Your Heads!
This year's Bath Festival opened last night under new management. People visit Bath to see the city as much as the events of the festival: it is among the most beautiful and architecturally important in Britain. But is eighteenth-century Bath attuning itself to the twentieth century or is it becoming an architectural museum?
