1969 brings a new Pirelli calendar for the motor trade, adorned as in previous years with beach girls wearing a sun-tan and not much else. Sex appeal in advertising has helped this Italian firm to win a growing share of the British tyre market. But this year's calendar could be the last of its kind. Many new and important changes going on in tyre design may force out the glossy girls in favour of technical facts.
