Presenters this week, Miranda Connell, Colin Jeavons
In the story chair, Donald Bisset
Today's story is called "The King and the Moon"

This week's Dressing-Up Day takes place inside a real castle when Miranda and Colin go to visit Bodiam Castle on the Sussex Downs. As usual, Dressing-Up Day is on Tuesday. Wednesday's story is about another castle. This one belongs to Babar, the King of the Elephants. Then, through the windows, a real baby elephant takes a bath. On Thursday Miranda makes a Play School flag; and on Friday Donald Bisset tells one of his own stories about a lion.

by Nicholas Bethell
Based on a short story by Alexander Pushkin
Starring John Ronane, Peter Jeffrey, Ann Bell, Ilona Rodgers

Silvio is a crack shot and champion duellist in the Russian army of the nineteenth century. When he is deliberately insulted by an arrogant colleague his fellow officers expect him to issue a challenge. The reason why he prefers to let the insult go and appear a coward involves another more long-standing affair. Silvio is after bigger game - a wealthy baron and his bride, one of the most beautiful women in Russia.
