A programme for children at home.
This week's guest, Brian Wildsmith

This week Play School has in Brian Wildsmith a very special guest. He is reckoned to be one of the most original illustrators now working in Britain. His illustrations for children's books are internationally known, and he has won prizes such as the Kate Greenaway Medal which was awarded for an Alphabet book.
Today you can see him drawing: on Wednesday he looks at pictures done by three of his four young children: and on Friday he explains some of his own pictures.

A crack driver's attempts to win America's most important race.
Tonight you can see how a racing driver prepares for a race he desperately wants to win. The driver is the American Eddie Sachs and the race is the terrifying Indianapolis 500. Sachs won many important races, but never the Indianapolis. The camera unobtrusively follows him as he prepares for the 1961 and 1962 races, and he speaks of his burning ambition to win. How this ambition was frustrated you can see in tonight's film which is co-produced by Time-Life Broadcasts and Drew Associates.
