The Prologue. The opening sets upfourtales of love in far-off exotic places -the Indies.
Le Turc Genereux. Osman has fallen in love with his slave girl Emilie, but when her true love Valere turns up he liberates them both.
Les Incas. High-ranking Incan Huascar's love forthe princess Phani is thwarted by the Spaniard Don Carlos.
Les Fleurs: Prince Tacmas and his confidant Ali are in love with each other's slaves. When the truth is revealed, all four rejoice at the Festival of Rowers.
Les Sauvages. Zima, daughter of a Native American tribal chief, may choose between two rival colonial captains, but turns instead to the honourable Adario.
