By Timberlake Wertenbaker. A young man flees to a distant land and vanishes. His mother follows, taking with heronly the certainty of his proud and distinguished ancestry. She is convinced that he is the descendant of Alexander the Great. But in an unfamiliar country all certainties seem to crumble. This story of love and loss explores passions simmering in contemporary Britain - the longing for identity, the despair of fragmentation and the fragile hopes of lives redefined.
