The Way to a Cold Supper A new play for radio by ISTVAN CSURKA
Translated from the Hungarian by GEORGE MIKES with Judi Dench as The Woman Alec McCowen as The Man
This play, by one of Hungary's leading dramatists, describes the evolution of a love affair between two people in their 30s with all its stresses and ups and downs. It is a study of considerable psychological subtlety which, incidentally, shows that these very contemporary human problems and situations are practically the same on either side of the Iron Curtain.
Producer MARTIN ESSLIN ‡ followed by an interlude
