In the village of Condesur l'Escaut in northern France there is an open square planted with trees: it is also the resting place of one of the world's finest composers. Josquin Desprez - a musical colossus whose works link the late Middle Ages with the High Renaissance - is buried there; the church that once stood on the site having been sacked by the Huguenots in the 16th century and demolished during the French Revolution.

Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival
Fiona Talkington visits the little Finnish town of Kuhmo, which each year hosts a prestigious chamber music festival. She talks to some of the organisers and participants, and plays recordings made at this summer's festival, which featured music spanning three centuries.
