The Grieg and Grainger Connection
In 1906, the Australian pianist Percy Grainger met Edvard Grieg. Grieg invited Grainger to Norway to study his piano concerto, and Grainger became one of Grieg's favourite interpreters of his music. Piers Lane explores the Grainger-Grieg connection and includes recordings by Emil Gilels and by Grieg and Grainger themselves.
