Twelve young hopefuls have reached the semi-final stage of the competition. Each pianist presents a 75-minute own-choice recital in the university's great hall. Presenter Mairi Nicolson is joined by lain Burnside between 6.00 and 7.00 with a further selection of highlights from yesterday's second round of semi-finals. Guest John Lill is a member of the jury of distinguished pianists and teachers whose task it is to select the six finalists and the eventual winner.
