At the time of his death in 1936 Sir Henry Wellcome 's collection of medical, anthropological and archaeological objects consisted of over one-and-a-half million items. Geoff Watts visits the Wellcome Museum of the History of Medicine which opened last December at the Science Museum in London, and examines how this extraordinary testimony to man's concern with his health was assembled.
