At about the time of the birth of Christ. King Herod ordered the building of an immense harbour at Caesarea. Excavations of the submerged remains have produced many unexpected findings - including evidence that the builders knew how to make concrete which would harden underwater. Anthony Smith recently visited Caesarea to join the archaeologists diving for the past.
