Although Twelfth Night had been performed, drama on the wireless in the early 20s was still a rarity, consisting largely of extracts from theatrical productions.
On 15 January 1924 Danger was broadcast as the first 'listening play' specially written for effect by sound only. It is a short play, written in haste to oblige a friend, but it was an instant success and it gave birth to a new art form.
