John Inverdale presents the first of five nightly programmes this week, following the competition to find Britain's most powerful man. The first group of six burly contestants are in Minehead, Somerset, where they flex their considerable muscle in events which include holding a van in the air, hoisting a giant anchor and pulling three train carriages weighing 40 tonnes. Only two out of all the competitors will qualify for Saturday's final.

A week into the challenge, in the third programme of a six-part reality series, and the contestants are hungry and tired. Andre makes a nightime raid on SAS expert Lofty's food stores but the whole group pay with an interrogation the next day. At the airport, the names of those who have been selected to go on to the next round are revealed and the qualifying group sent on their way to the new location.
