Barrels of Crude and Wallaroos
Here is proof that industry, in particular the oil industry, can co-exist with nature. Barrow Island, which lies off the tip of north west Australia, is home to the country's second largest oilfield and some of its most extraordinary animals.
"With all the environmental gloom and doom, it's great to be able to do a really positive conservation story," says producer Nigel Marven.
On Barrow the drilling is planned to provide the least possible damage to the scrub and bush. Oil men who harm animals are instantly dismissed and firearms are banned. In return the oil men set their watch by "television wallaby" which passes through at 7.30 on the dot, watch the wallaroos and kangaroos crowd in the shade of oil tanks, and have boodies (miniature burrowing marsupials) tussling for peanuts at their feet. Narrated by David Attenborough.
