Meet Amelia, the matriarch with her new baby, or Stormin' Norman, the dominant male, and Wade, a youngster suffering all the usual problems of adolescence. A new soap opera? Not quite. This is life in the flooded forests of Venezuela where a 30-strong army of wedge-capped capuchins, the hustlers of South America's monkey world, race through the trees in their search for food.
This film shows how the dynamic capuchins share their forest home with the lugubrious red howler monkeys, and how, particularly in the lush wet season, they devour juicy caterpillars, raid hoatzin nests and feast on ripe fruit.
Teamwork is vital as they risk ambush from an ocelot or boa-constrictor. Narrated by David Attenborough.
