The worldwide wildlife documentary series.

For the first time, the true life of chimpanzees is revealed in their forest home.
Shot over two years, this film includes remarkable photography by Michael Richard of 60 chimpanzees hunting and killing monkeys for food. It appears horrific, but a closer look reveals that the chimps hunt in a highly organised, intelligent way. Each of the large males has a specific role; some go ahead and block the monkey's escape as others drive them forward.

During the day the chimps travel at least 26 miles through the forest. "Keeping up with them was the hardest thing I've ever done," says producer Alastair Fothergill. The cameraman collapsed and had to abandon his heavy equipment and use shoulder-supported news cameras.

Besides their hunting skills, the chimps use 19 different tools - only man uses more. And theirs is also a warm, intimate society. So might they be our nearest relations? Narrated by David Attenborough.
