Highlights of the fourth day's competition in the World
Championships from Tokyo. Seven titles decided, with Britain looking for medals from John Regis in the 200m, Kriss Akabusi in the 400m hurdles and Tom McKean in the 800m. Introduced by Desmond Lynam and David Moorcroft.
The last programme in the documentary series giving a revealing insight into the hectic and demanding life of Dr Barry Brewster and his four GP partners in the Yorkshire Dales.
This week Dr Brewster braves blizzard conditions to trudge across the fields to visit a newly-born baby with jaundice; Willie's condition worsens in hospital; a boy with a severe foot injury needs emergency aid; and a family is helped to come to terms with cancer.
The end of 1990 brought fears of full-scale war in the Gulf and uncertainties for Dr Brewster and his wife Scottie. Would he be called up to travel to the Middle East in his role as a major in the Territorial Army's 201 General Hospital? On a happier note the three Brewster children return from their jobs around the world in time for a family Christmas and Dr Brewster becomes godfather to the nephew of the first baby he delivered when he became a GP in Settle 30 years earlier.
