For several years the Rugby town centre churches have joined in an unusual Passion Play. There are no dressed-up actors - the words of the Bible story are spoken and hymns are sung by people belonging to the congregations. There is no scenery -the action takes place in different parts of Rugby School. Everybody present is involved in the event, which moves from the Last Supper to Calvary, and beyond. 1945: in the little Italian village of Santa Vittoria the news of Mussolini's death is followed by another more disturbing announcement.
