begins a season of films written or adapted by the great playwright. Starring
Brilliantly transposed to the screen by its original author, Harold Pinter 's scathing view of the mores of middle-class marriage relies on a classic standby of cinematic technique - the flashback. The story covers the period from 1980, reaching back to the early 70s as the sequence of betrayals is unfolded. This serio-comic examination of sexual infidelity is brought vividly to light by three of Britain's finest actors and by the skilful and unobtrusive direction of David Jones.
