The problem is that they are fussy about the soil they grow in, but Geoff Hamilton shows how to fool them into flourishing in any situation. This year, the early spring has matured some varieties earlier than expected, but Roy Lancaster and John Kelly find plenty of magnificent examples in the garden of Peter Cox in Glendoick, Scotland.
