Georg Szell studied at the Vienna Conservatoire and has had a distinguished career in Germany as conductor, pianist, and composer. For two years he was assistant conductor under Richard Strauss at the Berlin Royal Opera, and on Strauss's recommendation he succeeded Klemperer at the Strasburg Municipal Theatre, when scarcely twenty years of age. From 1924-29 Szell was principal conductor at the Berlin State Opera and taught at the State Academy of Music.

Italia Conti
Since 1911, when Italia Conti was engaged by the late Charles Hawtrey to train children and arrange the fairy scenes and dances in Where the Rainbow Ends at the Savoy Theatre, she has devoted herself to the stage training of children, and among her pupils have been such stars as Noel Coward , Gertrude Law rence, Anton Dolin , and Brian Aherne. Her point of view about children should be one of the most interesting contributions to this series.

Dr. Carslaw is head of the Agricultural Economic Branch, and they will discuss some aspects of farm economics. In particular they will draw a comparison between specialisation and mixeJ farming.
