Making the Law
A dramatic interlude written for broadcasting by HUGH Ross WILLIAMSON
Old customs and laws were collected by King Alfred and written down and accepted by the Witan. As time went on, the king and his council not only gave justice, but also made new laws and discussed other important business besides. You will hear how kings found it useful and even necessary to have the consent not only of the nobles, but of the common people as well, and so Parliament, as we know it, began.

' She Knew Before They Came' by a Woman who Foresaw
Air-Raids
Dreams have been interpreted since the days of Joseph ; the question of whether or no it is given to some of us to see into the future remains a fascinating problem. We are so anxious to know what the future holds — what is going to happen. What adds to the conviction of this talk is that the woman who gives it, and claims second sight, belongs to no occult body and has never mixed with people who are concerned with that kind of thing. She is, on the contrary, an ordinary suburban housewife and mother, caring for a married daughter and a husband and son who both work in the City.

Mixed and baked by The Two Leslies
(Leslie Sarony and Leslie Holmes ) to the following recipe
1 lb. of Billy Matchett
1 handful of Lyle Evans
1 packet of Mario de Pietro
1 tablespoonful of Hugo
1 squeeze of Dorothy Hornblow 1 pinch of Gladdy Sewell 2 basinfuls of the Leslies to which add
Condiments by the BBC Revue Chorus and Garnishings by the BBC Variety Orchestra under the direction of Chef Charles Shadwell
The whole served up by Ernest Longstaffe
' Radio Pie' was first served to listeners Just a year ago. They should appreciate by now a second helping. Served up in the pie will be Lyle Evans (' Singing Dan ') ; Billy Matchett , who has broadcast from the Argyle, Birkenhead ; Dorothy Hornblow , who was discovered singing to customers in her father's hotel in Cardiff; our old friend Hugo, who will be butting in again ; Gladdy Sewell , the well-known comedienne, who should give a piquant flavour to the mixture ; and the ever popular Mario de Pietro. The two chefs, Leslie Sarony and Leslie Holmes , will endeavour to make the mixture, with its new ingredients, as palatable as before.
