Appeal on behalf of the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen by Sir W. Wavell Wakefield, M.P.
Contributions will be gratefully acknowledged and should be addressed to Sir W. Wavell Wake field, m.p., Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen, [address removed]
The awakening of the national conscience in the late nineteenth century gave birth to several notable philanthropic organisations. One of the most needed was the Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen. From Labrador and Iceland to the North Sea, its fourteen medical mission ships served the fishermen of all nationalities, setting a pattern which governments were later to follow.
Although conditions have vastly improved since then, the hazards of a fisherman's life remain constant. So too does the spiritual and social welfare work of the Mission's superintendents in all the principal fishing ports from the Shetland Islands to Cornwall-and even beyond the Arctic Circle.

13—‘The End of an Old Song'
Produced by James Crampsey
Prince Charles Edward Stewart is now at Crackenthorp's inn, as are his strangely mixed supporters, with Hugh Redgauntlet, the unwilling Darsie Latimer, and, under lock and key,
Darsie's friend Alan Fairford. Fairford is now aware that Latimer and Lilias are brother and sister and is about to declare his love for the girl when Cristal Nixon interrupts their conversation, closely followed by Redgauntlet with the news that there is rumour of a traitor in their midst. A council is held in an upper room of the inn.
Meanwhile Cristal Nixon has been sent to bring Nanty Ewart to Redgauntlet. Ewart discovers that Nixon is willing, even eager, to betray his master and slays him with a mighty blow of his sword. At the council, which the Prince has now joined, Lilias reveals written evidence of treachery.
