Bridgwater and Beyond
Script by John Coleman Cooke
The subject of this programme is the flat country of Somerset around Bridgwater and the coast on either side of the river Parret. A quiet and perhaps insignificant part of the countryside, where the talk for generations has been of salmon, flooding, and good grazing for sheep and cattle. Into this peace have come bulldozers and cranes, scientists and workmen, to erect an atomic electricity generating station.
