Legends accumulated round the personality of Aleister Crowley , who styled himself ' The Beast 666' of the Book of Revelation and boasted of practising Black Magic. Lance Sieveking did not know him well, but their paths crossed in curious circumstances and the impressions made by the ' Beast' was no doubt the reverse of that intended.

Ferenc Farkas , who was fifty-one last December, is one of the best-known figures in the modern musical scene in Hungary. A pupil of Respighi, be is an extravert composer, whose music appeals to a wide audience: his works include an opera, The Magic Cupboard, a Symphony, and much music for the theatre
— and for films (including incidental music to several of Shakespeare's plays).
His ballet The Sly Students was produced at the Hungarian State Opera in Budapest in 1949. The movements are: Fair in Debrecen, Air de danse, Students' Dance, Gypsy music, Pas de deux, and Finale. Deryck Cooke
