Last of the series of discussions in which three men ask a parson some of the questions that are in many people's minds these days
If what has been said about God and man on preceding nights is true, what does it mean in simple, straightforward terms ? On this question a newcomer to the discussions will have some uncomfortable things to say. He represents the great number of people who feel that the Church is always taking refuge in long explanations from the simple demands of Jesus.
These four discussions will be followed up by two sermons to be broadcast tomorrow, March 2, by Canon F. A. Cockin , the 'parson', who will conduct both the morning and the evening services in the Home programme.
Symphony No. 8, In F played by BBC Orchestra (Section B)
Leader, Paul Beard
Conductor, Sir Adrian Boult
Beethoven himself called the Eighth Symphony a ' little symphony ' and although it is imbued from first to last with gay spirits and is almost as light in texture as a Haydn or Mozart symphony, it was no great success when it was first performed. The reason for this, said Beethoven, is ' because it is so much better than the other'(the No. 7). Beethoven, however, was not necessarily a good judge of his own music.

Deep down in a certain cellar, which you must imagine to be both soundproof and bomb-proof, the night life of London still goes on. There the exiles of every nation gather to drink the remaining stocks of the wine of their country, and to listen to their native music.
Listeners can depend on a romantic atmosphere and background in any programme devised by the deviser of ' The Table under the Tree', especially when it is to be performed by so gifted and cosmopolitan a cast.
