Before the war Jack Barker and his partner, Walsh, was one of the best-known cabaret turns in the theatrical business. At the beginning of the war Walsh returned to America, and Jack found himself partnerless and billed for an engagement at a West-End restaurant. He immediately started rehearsing Daphne, and from these strenuous rehearsals and the success of their first engagement, the team of Jack and Daphne Barker was born. Since then they have had numerous successes and have broken all records at the May Fair Hotel, where they are now starring in cabaret. Jack, in addition to his theatrical work, runs a private-car hire service. Daphne, for her part is an accomplished painter, and has just finished a portrait of Frances Day.
In the closing quarter-hour of tonight's programme, ' Quiz ', who has compered ' May We Introduce ? ' throughout its run, will himself be interviewed by Ronald Waldman. In the course of this interview he will disclose his oft-guessed-at identity.
