The story of Operation Chariot, dubbed the original "mission impossible", the daring commando raid on the dry-dock of St Nazaire in the Second World War. The objective was to deny the Axis the ability to deploy their fearsome battleship, Tirpitz, in Atlantic waters, by ramming the dock gates with an old destroyer packed with explosives. But to achieve their aims the commandos had to move up the heavily defended Loire estuary, and fight their way past 4,000 German troops to get back to safety.
