The fourth opera in Richard Wagner 's epic four-part musical drama Der Ring des Nibelungen from the Royal Opera House in London. Siegfried has given the all-powerful ring to the warrior maiden
Briinnhilde as a token of his love. However, he is then bewitched by Gunther and Gutrune, sibling leaders of the Gibichung tribe, into a scheme to pair him off with Gutrune and leave the path clear for Gunther to seduce Brunnhilde. Meanwhile, the day draws close when Wotan will set fire to the halls of Valhalla and bring about the "twilight of the gods". Antonio Pappano conducts the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House.
