This time last year, surprise quarter-finalist Feliciano Lopez was crushed by former champion Lleyton Hewitt, 7-5, 6-4, 7-6. The grass-loving Spaniard entered the match in the best form of his life, having knocked out top-ten seeds Mario Ancic and Marat Safin, but the Australian beat the big-serving player at his own game. Meanwhile Sweden's Thomas Johansson booked his place in the semi-finals for the first time with a straight-sets victory over Argentinian David Nalbandian in a rain-interrupted match. Finally, Andy Roddick took almost three hours to overcome a brave fightback from Frenchman Sebastien Grosjean to reach his third successive Wimbledon semi-final 3-6,6-2.6-1,3-6,6-3. He would remain on course for a repeat of 2004's final against Roger Federer.
