In a tribute to one of Britain's most acclaimed and prolific writers, who died in May this year aged 72, BBC2 is re-showing a Bafta-nominated edition of Omnibus from 1997.
Rosenthal embarks on a retrospective journey to revisit the people and places that inspired his career over the first 30 years of his life, up to the point, in 1961, when he wrote the first of his 129 "Coronation Street" episodes. Including contributions from family members and his friends at school, university and in the Navy.
Rosenthal's 1996 play for television "Eskimo Day", which stars his wife Maureen Lipman, kicks off a short season of the writer's work on BBC4 at 8.20pm.
