Christopher Lloyd, of Taxi and Back to the Future fame, guests in this week's episode as Hal's rich, weird Civil War-obsessed dad. The whole of Malcolm's family - Hal, Lois and the children - is invited to a family reunion, organised with alarming military precision by Hal's sister.
But it's a joyless occasion. Hal's never had a very good relationship with his competitive dad, and his entire family conspires to look down upon and humiliate Lois. Before too long, the prevailing atmosphere gets to Hal in a most unexpected way, and the entire clan decides to take drastic action to defend their mum's damaged pride. (Alison Graham)
