The remaining third-round ties in the UK Championship, played over a maximum 17 frames, get underway in York, introduced by Hazel Irvine ,
Steve Davis and John Parrott.
At this stage last year there were wins for Stephen Hendry , Ken Doherty , Peter Ebdon , Mark Williams , John Higgins , Ronnie O'Sullivan and Drew Henry- but the shock of the round was Robert Milkins 's victory over Matthew Stevens in a nail-biting clash that ended 9-8. The Englishman's glee proved short-lived, however, when he crashed out 9-4 in the quarter-final to world champion Peter Ebdon. (S)

No one knew how much Andy Warhol was worth when the iconic artist died in 1987, and a canny lawyer grabbed his 15 minutes of fame by immediately claiming two per cent of his estate - only to be taken to court in a trial that gripped New York. Warhol's bequest was to establish a foundation for the visual arts, but it's debatable whether his final legacy has been fulfilled as he would have wished.
