12.00, 1.35 Cricket: Second Test
Live action from Headingley of the Second Test between England and Pakistan. England entered this match trying to overturn a 1-0 deficit after a disappointing performance at Lord's ended in a 164-run defeat. Since the last series victory over Pakistan -14 years ago - England have registered just one win over the tourists.
Pakistan, having regrouped since the winter troubles of the one-day World Cup, are again wreaking havoc with a bowling attack led by the experienced and explosive pairing of captain Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. However, England have, under captain Mike Atherton, also re-emerged this summer with a morale-boosting series triumph over India. Commentary from Richie Benaud , Geoffrey Boycott , David Gower , Asif Iqbal and Tony Lewis. Highlights on BBC1 at 11.35pm.

1.05 Yachting
Action from the Ultra 30 series. Last year, it was won by Russell Peters, who, in an exciting finale, just managed to edge out favourite and five-times champion Lawrie Smith. Peters will be determined to retain his title in his fifth Ultra 30 series. Commentary by Malcolm McKeag and Helen Rollason.

Some of the oldest people in the world reflect on how they have reached ages of 100 and above. Their sometimes-surprising suggestions for long life range from "moderation" and "hard work" to "treating everyone with respect" and the self-explanatory "keeping breathing". This award-winning film, written by poet Tony Harrison , combines drama, documentary, verse and music to pay a poignant tribute to people with Alzheimer's disease, a condition that affects 600,000 in Britain. Based at High Royds Hospital in Menston,
Yorkshire, it unravels the lives of the residents, who, along with theirfamilies and nursing staff, play themselves.
Residents' lost memories are revived in a moving mix of verse and song, with three actresses recreating the wedding days of patients. The film's specially arranged score was written by Dominic Muldowney and the pieces range from Daisy, Daisy Give Me Your Answer Do! to a Puccini aria from Madama Butterfly.
