The latest in the season of Pilot Paradise programmes which became classic comedy series. Are You Being Served? was originally shown in the Comedy Playhouse series in 1972. Writers David Croft and Jeremy Lloyd set the comedy in the fashion department of Grace Brothers, a huge but rather dusty old department store. The pilot episode spawned a follow-up series in 1973 and the programme continued to be made until 1985.
