The story of the Battle of Kursk in summer 1943, when the Soviet Red Army halted Hitler's last great offensive on the Eastern Front, revealed through recently uncovered secret documents, rare archive material and eye-witness testimony. More troops fought there than in the D-Day landings, more tanks were used than at El Alamein, and more lives were lost in seven weeks than the British army lost in the whole of the Second World War. It was the largest armoured battle in history, yet few in the West have heard of it.
