When a law lecturer was accused of a serious sexual assault the case, in the absence of criminal charges, was handled by the internal disciplinary procedures of the college where he worked. For reasons of confidentiality he was not initially told the identity of his alleged victim, and was not allowed to cross-examine her. Suspended from his job for 18 months, he was subsequently reinstated - but has he been the victim of an injustice?

In the third of a four-part series examining society's changing attitudes to the eating of meat, Derek Cooper compares organic with intensive farming methods. He visits two farms of identical size, and looks at how demand for cheap, lean meat led to the introduction of "factory" farms.
Although animal welfare is currently the focus of media and public attention, what people are willing to pay for their meat may determine the quality of life that the animals lead.

It may not have attitude, but its fans pay tribute to the design of Dante Giacosa as "a happy car" which is a lot of fun to drive.

Quentin Willson admits it has all the performance of a stone snail, a speedometer the size of a pocket watch and luggage space for a toothbrush or two. But where other cars are about image and power, the Fiat 500 seems to engender genuine affection among owners past and present. What is the appeal of this meatiest of four-wheelers?
