Meat: Animal Farms

on BBC Two England

In the third of a four-part series examining society's changing attitudes to the eating of meat, Derek Cooper compares organic with intensive farming methods. He visits two farms of identical size, and looks at how demand for cheap, lean meat led to the introduction of "factory" farms.
Although animal welfare is currently the focus of media and public attention, what people are willing to pay for their meat may determine the quality of life that the animals lead.
