The Ythan estuary, 20 kilometres from Aberdeen, is one of the most inhospitable spots in the British Isles. But despite a cruel climate, the area teems with life. What could be the attraction for the hordes of eiderducks, wading birds, fish and seals that descend on this outpost? The answer lies in the shifting sands. The most detailed study of its kind ever undertaken reveals a thriving microscopic world within the tidal sands and mud. All the species here - humans included - are interlinked in a complex "web of life" maintaining nature's delicate balance.

With huge pay rises and lucrative share options for bosses in the former publically-owned utilities still making the news, the financial affairs programme investigates the privatised electricity industry. The "fat cats" criticised for striking money-spinning deals have justified them on the grounds of the big profits being generated for shareholders. But Richard Watson asks whether the spoils of privatisation have been distributed fairly.

And, in a feature postponed from 5 March, Steve Annett goes behind the scenes to look at what the future might hold for controversial entrepreneur Alan Sugar and his ailing Amstrad electronics empire.
Presented by Francine Stock.

Former undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson is set to be released soon from Indianapolis Correctional Facility after serving three years for rape.
As Tyson prepares to rejoin US society, here is another chance to see the documentary by Academy Award-winning Barbara Kopple, first shown in the Fine Cut series, tracing his meteoric rise and equally dramatic fall. The programme features rare footage covering the period from when pugilistic mentor and father-figure Cus D'Amato took the shy 15-year-old under his wing to when the 25-year-old was convicted and sentenced to six years in jail.
In the ring his destructive intent was unrivalled but this film shows how, unable to divorce the violence of combat from his personal life, he succumbed to the darker side of his nature and became prisoner.
