Scottish sprinter Cameron Sharp was approaching the peak of his athletic career when a car crash left him unable to walk, barely able to talk. His slow, painful but determined fightback is the subject of this film.
Sharp was among the earliest patients to be treated at the first national head injuries unit in Scotland, now recognised worldwide for its work. His progress through physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and psychotherapy, to the point when after three months he forces himself to stand upright, is uplifting. Sharp uses his athletic training to push himself hard towards recovery.
"The film carries a message of hope," says producer and director Jackie Bird. "No matter how bad things may seem, if you have belief in yourself you can achieve great things."
