Feathers with Bird Attached Second of three programmes with Bill Oddie in Papua New Guinea.
Bill continues his search higher into the mountains where rhododendrons and kangaroos live up trees. The birds of paradise have incredibly long head and tail feathers and there's one that's coloured like lemon meringue pie. He finds a parrot-like vulture, and a bower-bird that decorates its bower with red and blue berries. And, even more amazing, some of his photos actually came out!

For the first time in Top
Crown's history, the North Midlands have made the final, in the shape of PETER VARNEY and BOB GILFILLAN. But the Coventry men face daunting opposition. KEN STRUTT and TOMMY HEYES demolished the 1986 champions BRIAN DUNCAN and NORMAN FLETCHER in last week's semi-final, and look unstoppable. Again there'll be new names on a trophy which so far has never been won twice by the same pairing. To the winners - E2,000 and trophy.
Richard Duckenfield introduces the evening from the Mitchell and Butlers Sports and Social Club, in Birmingham.

A series of eightprogrammes 5: Leopard Tracks by the Dead Sea
Leopards by the Dead Sea in Israel is no joke! Someone obviously thought it was, when they added a PS to a notice warning about leopards: 'Why not "Danger - polar bears?"' The leopard was long thought to be extinct in the region of Judea until one, driven by hunger, entered a kibbutz at En Gedi. Sadly, it was shot. Ever since that encounter, Israeli zoologist, Giora Ilany has been obsessed with finding out everything about these secretive big cats. This film is an account of Ilany's quest.
