Hungarian Grand Prix
Another first in international sport. Ferenc Puskas came to England in the 50s and ridiculed our chaps at
Wembley (6-3 lest you forget), so NIGEL MANSELL has nipped behind the metal barrier to bring back their inaugural title - not that the Magyars have a local hero we know of. Commentators
MURRAY WALKER and JAMES HUNT
Cricket
Derbyshire v Lancashire
John Player Special League PAT PATTERSON , virtually impossible to get away in the Caribbean, save with the head, will be a slightly different kettle of flying fish at Buxton. He'd do well to show CLIVE LLOYD a little respect - young upstart. Commentators
PETER WALKER and CHRISTOPHER MARTIN-JENKINS

Champion Stakes
You have to go to Dublin, or Phoenix Park to be absolutely precise, to find the biggest carrot in Europe for the 2-year-old racehorse.
Forest Flyer could be that young lady.

Courtship
It's Valentine's Day and Alex's man of the moment gives her everything: flowers, champagne and one big problem in his role as an influential television news reporter, whose opinion of the DA's handling of a city government scandal is less than flattering....

Three new programmes continuing this award-winning series featuring the landscapes of North America 1:Collision Courses
Written and narrated by Barry Paine
A volcanic holocaust gave birth to North America 5,000 million years ago and the continent has been growing ever since. Immense forces are at work, changing landscapes and the lives of people who live there.
In Alaska mountains are being forced upwards; earthquakes and volcanoes shake the land. Across
Canada and the eastern USA stand remnants of other mountain ranges: they are like pieces in a gigantic jigsaw puzzle that includes bits of Africa, Europe and ancient continents that rammed into each other.
It took an ice age to open this landscape to man. The hunt then was for mammoth and musk ox. Thirty thousand years later, the search is for gold, silver and uranium - buried treasure made by the same forces that built North America.

'The biggest show ever produced on this planet.'
This typically Texan claim was how Jean-Michel Jarre's Houston extravaganza was described earlier this year.
The concert, which took place on 5 April, was part of Houston's sesquicentennial celebrations. It used the ultra-modern downtown skyline as both a back-drop and a projection screen for the largest laser show ever given, watched by a crowd of over one million from as far away as two miles. In tonight's Whistle Test special, Jean-Michel describes his aims, with highlights from the amazing fusion of lights, projections, lasers and music. Reporter David Hepworth

A simultaneous broadcast with Radio 1 from 8.23. Viewers with stereo Radio 1 may wish to turn off TV sound and position their speakers on either side of the screen, but a few feet away. Stereo headphones provide a suitable alternative.
